13th Annual Golf Scholarship Fundraiser
Sets Another Record for NM Facility Managers
With 180 golfers playing on all three “nines” at the
beautiful Isleta Championship Golf Course, record donations will be made in 2007
by the New Mexico Facility Managers Network to support scholarships at the
University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College. Perfect
weather and the enthusiastic volunteer staff support were the icing on the cake
at the annual effort.
Loyalty from the membership is the one constant factor
in the event’s continued success. Distinct contributions, both large and small,
from both countless companies and outstanding individuals personalized the
gathering.
Once again, the trend was toward
companies fielding multiple teams of golfers to compete in the Championship
Division, playing for the esteemed silver trophy. But the golfers in the ABCD
Scramble Division enjoyed the day, too.
Even if your game was off, the tables loaded with door
prizes were a source of cheer. Power tools, GPS locators, loads of golf gear,
and restaurant gift certificates disappeared out the door
with the athletes after the post-game buffet.
Quoting Brad Sims with Catalent Pharma Solutions,
“This event has grown each year and playing in it is a true pleasure. The
grounds, the clubhouse, the food and door prizes are great, but most of all, the
people you meet are wonderful. Keep up the good work!”
