January - James Bond, Look Out: Albuquerque’s Sunport Pilot Site for Latest “ThreatSense” Technology February - Fifty members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network packed the Hummingbird Room at the Sandia Resort and Casino on a cold January night to get the hottest information on the latest technology developed to help detect and defray biological threats for facilities that may lie in terrorism’s line of fire. The level of expertise and skill exists to discover these hazards without sending alarming false signals to authorities and disrupting or panicking the general public. March The Chief of Police for the Albuquerque Department of Public Safety, Ray Schultz, covered the ground on the trends in crime in the Albuquerque, NM, metropolitan area for over 70 members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network at the February meeting. Chief Schultz answered all the hard questions, including: April What was passed and what was passed over in 2009’s legislative session at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe? How will the decisions made by this assemblage affect you in your professional life, and your personal chance for advancement this year? May - Like a knowledgeable stand-up comedian with a political bent, J.D Bullington, a favorite New Mexico Facility Managers Network speaker, wowed the April gathering with anecdotes about what was passed and what was passed over in 2009’s legislative session at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe. June -Public Service Company of New Mexico is implementing a program to provide incentives to commercial and industrial customers resulting from energy efficiency improvements in their facilities. Lighting, heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, motors, and even whole building energy-saving applications may qualify. July - Members and guests of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network enjoyed a perfect evening at the Isotopes ballpark, “The Lab”, on June 8th, 2009. August - Even in the toughest of economic times, 152 golfers managed to show their support for the New Mexico Facility Managers Network in its effort to raise money for scholarships at Central New Mexico Community College and the University of New Mexico by golfing in 90-plus degree heat at the beautiful Isleta Eagle Championship Golf Course on July 17th, 2009. September - An industry expert in all-things-cleaning-related, Alan France regaled a happy crowd over carne adovada breakfast burritos during the August meeting of the New Mexico Facility Managers Network as he explored the facts, myths, and trends in “green cleaning” for these information seekers and networking professionals. October - Eighty members and guests of three different organizations gathered in September to support and recognize outstanding individuals and organizations who demonstrated initiative towards energy efficiency in 2009 |
